II Corinthians 4:7-9

II Corinthians 4:7-9 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; God gives us His Wonderful Holy Spirit to live within us. And we share the love of God with others in the power of God. It is as if there is a wonderfully expensive perfume in a simple clay pot. The importance is in the perfume, not in the container. We are the clay pot and the Holy Spirit is the expensive perfume. And the whole point of the illustration is that we are unimportant and the Holy Spirit within us is very important. When people see how good we are, they must see that it’s not because of us; they must see that it’s because of what God has done for us and because of the Holy Spirit within us. After all, it’s all about God, it’s not about us.
