Joshua 1:9 Have not
I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be
thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua
was getting ready for battle. He was the general and was going to lead the
troops. But was he really the leader? Was he really in charge? Our verse
explains that Joshua was only following orders from the Almighty God. He didn’t
have to make the decisions; he had to obey God and follow God’s decisions. And
God said, “Be strong! Don’t be afraid!” And with God leading, Joshua wouldn’t
be afraid. Good advice for us too. If
God leads us we have nothing to be afraid of! Just obey and follow God!
