I Kings 14:1

I Kings 14:1 At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick. Jeroboam was a mighty man who rejected God and God’s anointed king, Rehoboam. Jeroboam set up idols in Israel to keep his people from traveling back to God’s Temple in Jerusalem. But when Abijah, Jeroboam’s son fell sick, Jeroboam knew that his false gods were only pretend. He couldn’t pray with a real need to his fake gods! So Jeroboam told his wife to put on a disguise and go down to Shiloah to Ahijah, the prophet of God. But was one step ahead of Jeroboam and his wife. God warned Ahijah that the queen was coming and Ahijah met her at the door! And was she surprised! Ahijah told her that because she and Jeroboam were so evil, their little son would die. The queen hurried home, but sure enough, the moment she set foot in the front door, the boy took his last breath and died. How sad! Remember: God punishes evil. And often innocent people will suffer because of another’s sins. Sin will be punished!
