I bought a new truck (new to me, it’s twelve years old) this past May. I went to Costco gas to fill up for the first time. But when I opened the cover on the gas tank, I discovered a locking gas cap! I looked at the key fob, and my heart sank: there was no key to the gas cap. On a whim, I twisted the “locking” gas cap, and it came right off. It was unlocked. What looked like a locked gas cap was really just a locking gas cap that didn’t work. Hey, how many times do we look like Christians, but we don’t work? We claim to be Christ-like, but we aren’t what we claim to be. Hey, if someone needs to know about God, can they ask you? Or do you just look like a Christian on Sunday morning? Are you just for show? Hey, the Lord is looking for real Christians; not just pretend Christians. So … are you the real thing? If not, now would be a good time for a change. Get real; make God proud of you.
