Exodus 4:2, “And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.” Just a stick. Moses was a shepherd for his father-in-law, Jethro, in Midian. The only thing he had to work with was his shepherd’s staff, a stick. But what a stick it was! Today, we might not think much of a stick. Today we would use a Milwaukee stick or a DeWalt stick. And if we were just ordinary, we would use a Ryobi stick or a Metabo stick. But just a stick stick? How could we do anything with just a simple stick? But that’s the point! God uses ordinary objects in the hands of His faithful servants to perform His miraculous things! But why? So that God might get the glory and not the stick or the user of the stick! I Corinthians 1:27&29, “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; That no flesh should glory in his presence.” Hey, use your ordinary tools and your ordinary skills to glorify God! God will be pleased, hearts will be changed, and you will be blessed.
