Spill the Grape Juice

My wife likes the low-cal cranberry juice blend, so I like to buy it for her.  I went to open the plastic container last night, but it was smushed in on one side.  I should have known, but I am not known for my caution.  “Throw caution to the wind,” is my mantra.  But after last night, I canceled that mantra.  I knew the juice would spill out, so I opened the plastic bottle slowly.  But some juice spilled out.  And when I picked up the bottle to move it to the sink (where I should have opened it anyway) my gentle squeeze on the sides caused more juice to spill out.  Of course, grape juice stains the most, so I had a difficult time cleaning up my mess.  Reminded me of a great spiritual lesson: whatever is in the container, that is what will spill out.  If you have love in your heart, love will spill out when you are jostled.  If you have bitterness in your heart, bitterness will spill over when you are jostled.  Jesus said in Luke 6:45, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”  Today, allow the dear Lord to fill your heart with kindness and grace.  For if He does, you will spill out kindness and grace over everyone that you meet.  Much better than grape drink.
