I just can’t do anything without building a box. So, I was putting away the ornaments that were hung on the Christmas tree, and had to make boxes to store them in. Yep, pretty much an excuse to build boxes. I was getting out my brad nailer from the shelf in the garage, and I had to move my stapler and my 15-gauge finish nailer like I always do. Why is it that the one that I need is always on the bottom?! But then I thought, “Why do I have to stack them one on top of the other? Why not just stand them up like books? So I did, and voilà, problem solved! But then I thought, I have been stacking and unstacking those 3 tools for years! Why hadn’t I thought of that simple solution sooner?! But the key is, I thought of it. In Matthew 20, the vineyard owner went out early in the morning and hired dayworkers. As the day progressed and the work dragged on, he went back 4 more times to get more workers to see the job done. Matthew 20:6&7, “And about the eleventh hour (just before quitting time) he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us …” Hey, it would have been better for me to have figured out my problem years ago, but the key thought is that I did figure it out! “Better late than never.” Some folk are slow (like me) but at least we get ‘er done! Hey, think outside of the box and come up with a novel solution. And it might be good for you (and for me) to ask the dear Lord for insight.
