My daughter-in-law makes great sourdough bread. One of the reasons that I like her bread is the rough texture, which holds extra dribbles of honey. On ordinary smooth store-bought-bread, the honey runs off. But the sourdough pockets hold extra heavenly sweets. But sourdough comes with a hazard: if I slice the sourdough bread too thin, the pockets become holes and that sweet honey runs out of the bottom … and onto my beard. And if you’ve ever tried to get honey out of a beard, well, just take my word for it, it’s hard. Reminds me of Psalm 133:2 written by King David: “It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments.” So, what is the antecedent of “it” at the beginning of the verse? Brothers living in unity (found in verse 1). Hey, get along with one another today, and God will be pleased. And eat sourdough bread with honey and you will be pleased.
