Romans 7:24,25

Romans 7:24,25 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Yesterday we read about Paul’s dilemma. Do you know what a dilemma is? A dilemma is having to choose to eat either a Debbie Cake or a candy bar. You want to eat both, but you must choose only one. You have a dilemma. Yesterday Paul’s dilemma was his flesh or his spirit. Paul wanted to do the right thing – the spirit – but he was constantly doing the wrong thing – the flesh. And that is our problem too. We want to do the right thing, but we end up doing the wrong thing because it is easier to do wrong than to do right. But our solution is the same as Paul’s solution: Jesus Christ. We can’t do it, but Jesus can do it. We must give up control of ourselves and let Jesus take over and we can do it through Jesus’ power. Jesus is the answer to living the life that we want to live. Jesus living through us!
