Exodus 10:16-18

Exodus 10:16-18 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you. Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only. And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD. It sounds like Pharaoh was finally repentant. But not really. He repented just long enough for Moses to pray to God to remove the plague. But then, as soon as the plague was gone, Pharaoh went right back to his old self: rebelling against God. Pharaoh was like a lot of people today: repentant just enough to get out from under God’s judgement, but not repentant down in their hearts. Pharaoh wanted to be done with the locusts, but Pharaoh didn’t really want to obey God.
