So … I have fixated on this biscuit-making thing. (I may be somewhere on the spectrum.) Every day, I tweak my recipe and process, and my biscuits keep inching forward. Tuesday evening, my great niece gave me some of her biscuits (and a pound of coffee, thank you very much), and they were pretty good. She included her recipe for her struggling uncle. She used slightly different amounts along with a tiny bit of baking soda and a wee bit of vinegar in the milk (to simulate buttermilk). So, now I am using the improved Jackie White recipe. And my daughter played me a YouTube video of an old lady baking biscuits. This grandma said, “Crowd them up in the pan so that they have only one way to go, and that’s up.” Good advice for biscuits and good advice for people. Hebrews 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” As our world gets more and more wicked, I see the second coming of the Lord drawing closer and closer. And instead of canceling church services, we should be adding church services. Oh yes, we should! Us Christians need to crowd together and look up, because our Savior is coming back real soon! Jesus said in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” Hey, prepare for the Lord’s return. And do your best to take some newly converted sinners with you! And … keep baking those biscuits.
