I Peter 1:7

I Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Have you ever noticed that gold rings don’t tarnish. They don’t rust like something that is made of steel. When the paint scratches off of your bicycle, that area starts to rust. But a gold ring won’t rust! That is why gold is a precious metal. It is durable and won’t tarnish. And Peter is telling us that when our faith is tried and tested in life, it gets better and better, just like gold that is refined. Peter goes on to say that when our faith is tested, it is more glorious to Jesus Christ. Do you remember Job in the Old Testament? Satan tried to defeat him and to make him turn away from trusting God. But Job didn’t. He was faithful to God, and God was proud of him. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if God were proud of us! God will be proud of us if we trust in Him and believe in Him! We can make God proud!
