I Peter 2:24

I Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Our verse for today talks about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Because of the death of Jesus, we can live. He died for us so that we may be alive spiritually. Our verse also speaks of the beating that Jesus received of the Roman soldiers. This beating was prophesied over 400 years earlier in Isaiah 53! Our sins are healed because of the beating that Jesus took on His crucifixion day. This was all in God’s plan. God loved us so much that He sent His dear Son, Jesus to die for our sins. What a wonderful love!
