Colossians 1:1-3

Colossians 1:1-3  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. Paul traveled all around the Roman Empire preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He usually took others with him. He liked to take young Timothy with him and to teach him how to be a good preacher. And here, Paul is writing to the church in Colosse. But Paul had not been to Colosse. But he had heard of the exciting church in Colosse from Epaphras, one of their members who had come to help Paul. So Paul wrote to them to encourage them. Hey, that’s what I am doing to you! I am writing to you to encourage you in the Lord. And that’s a good thing. Why don’t you try it? Why not write to a missionary or to an old person in your church and encourage them. They would love to get an encouraging letter from you. You could be just like the Apostle Paul!
