Colossians 3:8-10

Colossians 3:8-10 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. Paul talks about putting off the old man and putting on the new man. But what in the world is he talking about?! When we are saved, we become a new creature. The old things are passed away and everything is become new. And Paul uses the illustration of putting off old clothes and putting on new clothes. The old is the old ways of sin that we used to do when we were sinners, and the new are the new things that we do as Christians. What should Christians be doing? Reading your Bible? Going to church? Praying? Doing devotions with Granddaddy? Well, maybe not that last one. But there should be a change in our life – we are brand new on the inside. So, let’s not be like the old man – the sinner man. Let’s be like the new man – the Christian man. The one that God wants us to be.
