Amos 5:18,19 Woe
unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of
the LORD is darkness, and not light. As if a man did flee from a lion, and a
bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a
serpent bit him. These verses are a great word picture! Sometimes we wish
that evil people would get what they deserve. But punishment in the Lake of
Fire is terrible. There is never ever any relief and never any escape. When we
wish for the coming of Jesus, there are many people who will not be prepared.
It will be a terrible day of judgement for them. Wishing for the Day of the
Lord may be good for us who are saved, but it will be terrible for those who
are not saved. So be careful what you wish for.
