Obadiah 3 The pride
of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the
rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me
down to the ground? Obadiah is one of those little books with only one
chapter. Obadiah reminded Israel that they couldn’t trust in their strategic
position for safety. They should trust in God. A fortress on a high mountain
may seem safe and secure, but safety can only be found in the Almighty. Obadiah
reminds us that we need God too. He is our safety. We cannot depend on our money
or talents or good looks (that’s for me) or clever answers. We must depend upon
the Lord our God.
