John 19:1-4

John 19:1-4 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. Jesus was arrested by the Jewish religious leaders, who were jealous of his popularity. They wanted to get rid of Jesus once and for all. But they couldn’t. At that time Israel was ruled by the Romans, and only they could put a man to death. So after the unfair trial before the high priest, Jesus was brought to the Roman governor, Pilate. But Pilate found no fault in Jesus. That is because Jesus was really innocent. He had Jesus beat and then marched out in mock royal clothes: A crown of thorns and a purple robe. But the religious leaders still demanded His execution. Evil people always want their way – even if it is not fair. And they often get their way. But always remember: God is watching and He is keeping the score. Someday everything will come out. Good will be honored and evil will be punished. Always remember.
