Genesis 11:1,3,4

Genesis 11:1,3,4 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. God had commanded mankind to spread out and refill the earth. But unbelievers decided to stick together and make a tower that reached toward heaven. God said, “Move out,” but man said, “Let’s stick together.” It was the same old rebellion against God. So God had to confuse their language and make them speak different tongues. They became frustrated and short-tempered with one another because they couldn’t understand what others were saying. They eventually just had to get away from each other. They moved out as small family groups that all spoke the same language, but life was difficult. Life would have been much better if they had obeyed God and moved out in obedience to His command. But now they were forced out. God’s always wins. But it is better for us if we chose to obey God’s will than if He has to make us obey His will. God loves us and only wants what is best for us. It is always best for us if we listen to God.
