Ephesians 5:22

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. Yesterday we learned about the husbands’ responsibility to love his wife, and today we learn about the wives’ responsibility. She is to submit to her husband. Biblical submission is often misunderstood. First, let’s talk about what submission is not. The husband is not the boss of his wife, he is just the leader. She does not have to do everything and anything that her husband tells her to do. The husband and wife are a team. And just like a good football team has a quarterback and a wide receiver, the family has a husband and a wife. It isn’t that one is more important than the other, they are both equally important. It’s just that one has to be in charge. The quarterback is in charge of the team on the football field, and the husband is in charge of the home. A wise husband will listen to his wife and a wise wife will listen to her husband. The mom and the dad should work together. And the kids must listen and always say, “Yes sir.” JUST KIDDING! In order for your family to get along and to get along well, everyone has a job to do. If we all obey the Lord and follow His Word, we will do well. After all, God made us, and He knows the best way for us to live.
