Isaiah 53:4,5

Isaiah 53:4,5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Jesus was just like those Old Testament lambs that were sacrificed at the Temple. The man would bring the lamb to the priest. Then he would lay his hands upon the head of the lamb and signify that the lamb was taking away his sins, and the lamb was killed. The lamb took away the sins of the
man . . . for just that one year. But Jesus Christ was wounded for our sins. He was punished for our iniquities. He paid, once and for all, the sins of the entire world! Jesus paid the permanent sacrifice for our sins. And with the sacrifice of Jesus, we are free from our sins and we can go to heaven when we die. We are free! Totally free from our sins!
