Jeremiah 6:16

Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. In our verses for today, God told the people to get back to the old ways, but they refused. They said, “We will not walk in those old paths. We want to follow a more modern way. We want to have our freedom. What God says in the Bible is so old school and so out of date.” People want newer styles of singing and modern ways of thinking. They say, “Everyone is drinking a little wine with their meal. What’s wrong with that? What’s wrong with R rated movies? What’s wrong with gay marriage? Times are changing and we must change with the times.” But God says that the old ways are still the best ways. Somethings will never change. Sin will always be sin and wickedness will always be wicked. God will honor those people who honor Him. If we will follow God, we must be willing to stand up for what is right. So how do we do that? Well first you must decide what pleases God, and then do it! Just stand fast. Don’t apologize or back down. Stand for what is right!
