Lamentations 3:25
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
Let me say it right out loud: it is hard to wait on the Lord. When we have a
need, we go to God in prayer. But, we want an answer right away. However, God
isn’t a Genie in a bottle Who we can bring out whenever we need Him. God is the
Creator of the Universe!
We are the ones who must wait on
Him! So why is it so hard to wait? That is because we don’t know the future. It
takes time for everything to work out. And God knows what He is doing. He is
working everything out for our good … but it takes time. Just like your mother
baking cookies. When she puts them in the oven, you must wait … and wait … and
wait. And finally, they are ready to come out. When you take the first bite of
that warm cookie, it is wonderful! It was worth the wait! And so it is with
life. We must wait on the Lord. He knows what is best. it just takes time.
