I Timothy 3:1,6,7

I Timothy 3:1,6,7 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. When a man becomes a preacher, it is a wonderful thing. But when a man becomes a preacher, he also takes on a serious responsibility. So at the same time, it is a wonderful privilege and an awesome responsibility. And Paul reminds young Timothy that the office of pastor needs experience. When a man is saved, he must grow in the Lord and study the Bible and gain experience before he takes on the responsibility of pastoring a church. A pastor can be a young man, but he needs to be a man with wisdom and understanding. He needs to have a good reputation both in the church and outside of the church. To be a good pastor takes time. We should pray for our pastor and help him to be all that God wants him to be.
