Numbers 22:20

Numbers 22:20 And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do. Israel was mopping up the Canaanites in the Promised Land, and those that were left were scared. Balaak was the king of the Moabites and he had an idea. He sent for the prophet of God and was going to pay him to curse Israel so that Moab would win. Balaam was reluctant, but God told him to go with Balak. But as Balaam rode his donkey to do the evil deed, the donkey refused to go. After beating the donkey three times, the donkey turned around and spoke to Balaam! The donkey said, “Haven’t I served you faithfully all of these years?” And as Balaam glanced ahead down the road, there was an mighty angel with a flaming sword just ahead. The donkey had seen the angel and had saved Balaam’s life! God told Balaam to go ahead and to take Balak’s money, but to speak a blessing instead of a curse upon Israel! Balak was furious when a blessing came out of Balaam’s mouth instead of a curse, but Balaam couldn’t help it. Balaam said, “I have to say what the Lord puts in my mouth. I belong to him – I am God’s prophet.” Hey, what about you? Do you belong to God? Do you speak God’s words to others? I hope so!
