Intellectual Property

Brother Larry Russell works for WTS in Chattanooga.  It is called WTS because forty years ago it was called Wholesale Tape Supply, but very few people use cassette tapes today.  But that’s another story.  Brother Larry produces and duplicated CD’s and DVD’s for musicians and preachers.  But when a singer uses a song, Brother Larry must be very careful that they have the copyright permission secured.  Otherwise, there could be a lawsuit later.  It’s called “intellectual property.”  When a composer writes a song, it belongs to them.  They own the rights to the lyrics and to the music because they wrote the song.  They created it and they own it.  Hey, that’s the same with God and us.  God made us and He owns us BECAUSE He made us.  We are His “intellectual property”.  Isaiah reminded his people in Isaiah 43:7 that God owns “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”  Not only did God make us, but He redeemed us by the sacrificial death of God the Son on the cross of Calvary.  So God owns us twice!  He made us and He bought us … with His precious blood on Calvary!  Hey, God is your Maker, and God wants to be your Redeemer.  But have you accepted Him as your Savior?  The choice is up to you.  Think about it.
