Resistance

The primary purpose of exercise is to strengthen muscles.  Cardiac exercise strengthens the heart muscle, and that’s a good thing.  Right?!  So, in any exercise, resistance is necessary.  The muscle, whether it’s heart, arm or leg, must work against something to get stronger.  The same is true in life.  The dear Lord sends (or allows) difficulties in our lives to strengthen our character.  Joseph, Daniel, Ruth, and Paul would not have been the great examples that they were if not for the difficulties that the Lord took them through.  I Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”  So, when difficulties come your way today -and they will – take them as from a loving heavenly Father, Who is giving you what you need, not what you want.  God is giving you resistance to strengthen you.  When you experience difficult times (resistance) be reminded that God loves you!  Yes, He does!
