Hebrews 10:25

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Our verse reminds us that it is important to go to church. We need to be around other Christians who can encourage us. When I am too tired to go to church Wednesday night, do you know what I do? I go to church. And when I go to church, I feel better. God blesses us and encourages us through other believers. And there is that word exhort. Exhort is what the football players do to each other before the game. They put on their helmets and pads and hit on each other to get each other excited. They get right in each other’s face and yell and belly bump each other. They want to get all pumped up for the game. Wouldn’t it be great to see the piano player to belly bump the song director? Now that would be exciting! What if the pastor and the youth director would smack on each other and yell in the face of each other to get each other excited? That would be pretty exciting too! Well, we need to exhort one another and even more the closer and closer we get to the coming again of Jesus Christ. That is what the “so much the more” part means. Let’s encourage one another and be faithful, especially when things get tough. Be encouraged by others and encourage others!
