Hebrews 6:19

Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast … Our verse for today talks about an anchor for the soul. So what is an anchor used for? That’s right. The captain of the ship throws out a heavy anchor attached to a heavy chain that is attached to the ship. The anchor keeps the ship safely at the right place where the captain wants to stay. The anchor has points on it that catch onto rocks on the sea bottom. The anchor stays put; it doesn’t move. And isn’t that a good picture of Jesus Christ?! He stays put. Jesus stays steady. We can count on Jesus to always be the same. He doesn’t change. The word in Hebrews 6:18 is immutable. Immutable means that God never changes. Isn’t it great to know that Jesus never changes?! And just like an anchor, isn’t it good to know that we can depend upon Jesus Christ our Savior?!
