Hebrews 5:13,14

Hebrews 5:13,14 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. God has many children. Some of God’s children are closet to Him than others are. But God loves them all just the same. God doesn’t love those who love Him; God loves everyone. So how do we learn about God? How do we get close to God? We learn about God by reading the Bible. We communicate with God through prayer. We spend time with God and we get to know God. We are growing in the Christian life. As we read the Bible we become mature Christians. Our verses talk about baby Christians compared to grown-up Christians. If we just go to church on Sunday morning and never pray or read our Bibles during the week, we aren’t going to grow very much as a Christian. But if we spend time with God in prayer and Bible reading, God will become closer to us and we will learn more about God. Our time with God is important. So where are you in your Christian life? Are you a grown-up Christian who can dig into the meat of the Bible and study things out for yourself? Or are you a baby Christian, only knowing what you get once a week on Sunday morning when the preacher gives you your baby bottle?
