Stumble

We have a dear friend at church who stumbled at an uneven sidewalk joint and fell and broke her hip.  It was extremely painful and involved months of therapy.  It’s no fun when you stumble.  Hey, many people stumble over the simplicity of the Gospel.  To them, it just seems too easy.  They think that they should some sort of work to earn God’s favor.  But Paul said in I Corinthians 1:23&24, “But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”  It isn’t what you do; it’s what Jesus has done.  Jesus Christ did all the work for us; we just need to believe.  Don’t stumble over the simplicity of the Gospel; just believe it.
