Have you ever said, “I have a gut feeling”? The apostle Paul did. And he said in Philippians 2:1&2, “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, … having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” He had this deep-down “bowels of mercy” feeling of love towards his fellow Christians. But some of us are just plain “irritable bowels” toward fellow believers! Instead of Christians with bowels of mercy, we are Christians with spiritual IBS! And the worst part is that the unsaved world is watching us pick and fight at one another … at the house of God! Hey, let’s love one another as the Lord loved us and as Paul loved the brethren in Philippi. Let our love shine forth!
