John 7:40,44-46

John 7:40,44,45,46 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. Jesus was not what you would call an educated person. He had not gone to the Temple schools like the other religious leaders. But He was the Son of God and He knew all of the Scriptures because He had written them! Some people believed Him while others did not. Those who believed Him became His followers but those who did not believe Him became His enemies. They would have arrested Jesus then and there, but it wasn’t his time yet. They couldn’t stop Jesus because He had much more teaching to do for His disciples. They had to be ready before His crucifixion. The chief priests sent the Temple soldiers to bring Jesus to them, but they came back empty handed. When the priests asked the soldiers why they had not arrested Jesus, they replied, “Never man spake like this man”. Jesus was different. He was the Son of God!
