I Corinthians 12:12

I Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. Do you know what a paradox is? A paradox is a statement that is true, but at first it seems that it cannot be true. For instance, have you ever heard that someone “put their foot in their mouth”? Can a person, other than a limber baby, put their foot in their mouth?! What that actually means is that someone said something that they shouldn’t have said. And that expression is a paradox. And so it is with our verse for today. Although we are all individuals, we are together the body of Christ. We are doing our own thing, but together, we are doing what Jesus Christ, our head is wanting us to do. We are separate but together – a paradox. Get it?
