I Corinthians 12:14-20

I Corinthians 12:14-20 For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. Today we have a third passage about the body of Christ. And if you are getting bored with it, we will have one more tomorrow! Gotcha! So, if the Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, takes so much time to talk about the body of Christ, it must be important. And I agree. There is nothing more than important than unity – working together. And several other verses of Scripture agree. We need to get along with each other. So what is the easiest way to get along with each other? The answer was in yesterday’s verse. As we follow Jesus and are obedient to Him, we are all doing the same thing and therefore working together. As we all follow Jesus, we have the same goals and desires. We are together; we are all part of the same body: the body of Christ with Jesus as our boss. So, let’s get along with one another by serving Jesus. It is just that easy.
