Mark 2:16,17

Mark 2:16,17 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Jesus always got along with sinners better than the religious crowd. That’s because the sinners knew that they needed His forgiveness. The religious crowd was too proud to realize that they were sinners too. Jesus explained tings simply: Sick people need a doctor. But these religious fellows still didn’t get it. The problem was that they didn’t realize that they were sin-sick. They didn’t realize that they needed the Great Physician to heal their sin-sick soul. It’s simple: if you realize that you need a Savior, you can get saved right away. But if you think that you are OK and that you can make it just fine all by yourself, well, you are terribly deceived and blinded. Jesus came to save sinners, not to brag on goody-goody people. We all need salvation; it’s just that some uppity people don’t realize it!
