Mark 3:9-12

Mark 3:9-12 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known. Jesus was different from the religious leaders of His day. He spoke with authority and he demonstrated His authority. Jesus had authority over illnesses. Jesus had authority over diseases. And everyone brought their sick people to Him to be healed. Jesus also had authority over the demonic world. And when families brought their demon controlled children to Jesus, the demons were afraid of the very presence of Jesus. These demons fled from tormented boys and girls just at the sight of Jesus Christ. And when they spoke out praising the Son of God, Jesus shut them right up. He wanted no part of demons worshiping Him. They had rebelled against God thousands of years before and Jesus knew their evil tactics. He didn’t need them to praise Him. Jesus was in charge of this situation. And Jesus was using these miracles for one purpose: He wanted the miracles to authenticate His ministry. And everyone agreed: Jesus was the only begotten Son of God, He was the promised Messiah.
