Mark 5:22-24

Mark 5:22-24 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. Jesus never had anything good to say about the religious leaders of His day. That is because they never had anything good to say about Him. They saw His miracles, but they were too prideful in their hearts. They were more concerned about their position than th truth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. That is until Jairus. He was a different kind of religious leader because he had a personal need. His little daughter was sick and the Master was the only one who could help. And Jairus just knew that Jesus could help. Jairus abandoned his pride and fell at Jesus’ feet. Jairus humbly begged Jesus to come and heal his daughter. And Jesus had pity on Jairus. Jesus felt sorry for the little girl at home burning up with fever. So He left the crowd to go to meet the little girl’s life-threatening need. But Jesus and Jairus were interrupted. Someone else had a need. Jesus knew that the little girl was at the point of death, but He stopped and took care of another need. Of course the little girl might die, but Jesus wasn’t worried about death. Jesus even had the power over death. Jesus could heal a girl of a fever or raise her from the dead. Neither were too hard for Him! Wow! Jesus had the power over death! That is a good thing to remember when we have a need. Jesus can take care of it! Never forget!
