James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! James chapter 3 is all about controlling your tongue. Often you say the wrong thing and hurt other people. James gives several examples of things that are little, but important. A fire is started by a tiny match. A huge ship is directed by a little rudder. A half-ton horse is controlled by the small in its mouth. And so the tongue is a tiny organ in your body, but controls everything that you do. What you say can hurt people. Or what you say can help people. Guard what you say. Guard your tongue.
