Judges 13:2,24

Judges 13:2,24 And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife … And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. The Philistines beat down Israel for forty years before God sent a deliverer. His name was Samson. God gave Samson special strength and a mission to deliver Israel from the Philistines. But Samson was proud and used his power for himself. He toyed with the Philistines and had a Philistine girlfriend, Delilah. Oh, Samson fought the Philistines several times, but he didn’t deliver Israel as God wanted him to. When Samson told Delilah the secret to his super-human strength was his hair, Samson lost everything. The Philistines cut his hair, put out his eyes, and used Samson like a beast grinding meal in prison. How sad! But God let Samson have one last chance. The Philistines brought Samson out of prison to their temple to make fun of him. He asked the little boy leading him to let him rest by leaning on the two great supporting columns of the building. Samson prayed to the Lord and with all his might, he pushed the two supporting columns and brought the entire coliseum down. Samson died in the collapse of the building, but so did 3,000 important Philistine men and women! In his death, Samson finally obeyed God. Hey, don’t wait to obey God. Obey God the first time so that it won’t be your last time, like Samson.
