When I was young, my family celebrated three birthdays in October: my dad’s birthday was October 19, my brother’s birthday was October 15, and my birthday was October 21. We always celebrated the three together and always celebrated them on October 15 so my younger brother wouldn’t have to wait for his presents. So, I got to celebrate my birthday early! Not bad! Today is my dad’s birthday - he has been gone for 36 years. My brother, Phillip, died in a single car accident in 1968, 57 years ago. I miss both of them and await the day when we will be reunited in heaven. I Corinthians 13:12, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” Someday very soon, when we meet our Maker face to face, all tears will be wiped away and we will know the purposes of life’s winding pathway. Or, maybe, none of those questions will even matter, for we will have seen the Face of our Lord and Savior!
