Friday morning at cardiac rehab, I was having trouble keeping my earbuds in place. I felt like I was drilling them into my ears. I was just getting started on the elliptical machine when the right one popped out, tumbled to the floor, and rolled under the machine. Bummer. I stepped off (lost a minute of precious exercise time) and knelt down looking for the thing. Then I heard voices of alarm. I looked up to see what was going on, and saw two people rushing to me! They thought I had fallen off the machine and was having a medical emergency! I assured them that I was fine showing the earbud in my hand explaining what had happened. I said, “At least I know who my friends are!” The one man was a recovering heart patient and I apologized for alarming him. We both had a good laugh. Hey, when you have a “spell”, do you have folk who will come to your rescue? Proverbs 17:17, “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” I have many “brothers who are born for adversity.” And I know that I do, because there are many who comment or click on my posts. But even if you don’t, I would still come to your rescue. Probably.
