Mark 14:56-59

Mark 14:56-59 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. But neither so did their witness agree together. When Jesus was dragged into the palace of the chief priest for trial, no one could accuse Him of anything. What could they charge Jesus for? Healing the sick? Raising the dead? Causing the blind to see? Feeding hungry people? Jesus did nothing but good. They could find no fault with Him. So they got lying witnesses to bring up false charges against Jesus. But even those false witnesses couldn’t agree. They finally repeated Jesus’ statement about His death, burial, and resurrection after three days. The chief priests accused Jesus of plotting to destroy the Temple in Jerusalem. So Jesus was found guilty on false charges. But no matter; Jesus just had to die for our sins, and any excuse of a reason would do. He was dying for us, and that is all that we need to know.
