Mark 15:25-27

Mark 15:25-27 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. In Isaiah 53:12, Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would be numbered among the transgressors And He certainly was! He was nailed to a cross with a thief of one side and a thief on the other. Pilate was convinced that Jesus was truly the King of the Jews, so he wrote that above Jesus. But the Jews were furious! They thought that Pilate should have written that Jesus only said that He was the King of the Jews. But Pilate was adamant. He refused to change the inscription above Jesus. He wanted to get one last dig at the Jews. That was because Pilate thought that Jesus was innocent and that He was a good man. Pilate was so close to salvation. But close is not enough. Poor Pilate. He had a chance, but probably didn’t take it. Too bad!
