Mark 16:4-7

Mark 16:4-7 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. When the two Mary’s and Salome got to the tomb, they expected to see the Roman guards. But they didn’t! They expected to have to get some strong man to roll the stone door away from the tomb entrance. But they didn’t! The stone was already rolled away! And they expected to find the body of Jesus, needing to be anointed with their spices. But Jesus wasn’t there! But, there was, what looked like, a young man in a glowing white robe calmly sitting there in the tomb! Wow! What a turn of events! And in a soothing voice, the young man said, “Calm down ladies, everything is all right. I know that you are looking for the body of Jesus, but it isn’t here. That’s because Jesus is risen! Jesus is alive! So go and tell Peter and the other fellows that Jesus Himself will meet them a little later.” Were those ladies shocked! So many thoughts were swirling around in their heads. They had seen Jesus die. But this man told them that He was alive! Could Jesus be alive? Could it be so? Their minds were in such turmoil. They wanted to believe – but could they believe? Could it be true? Was Jesus really alive?!
