The Big Picture

I like to watch the old cowboy TV shows.  On “Laramie,” when the bank was robbed, the first thing that they did was to organize a posse to search for the culprits.  Today, the police have it so much easier.  When a bank is robbed today, the first thing that they do is to radio the police helicopter.  The helicopter can go up into the sky and look over so much more territory than squad cars can on the ground.  The helicopter can locate the fleeing perpetrators within a few minutes.  That’s because the helicopter can take in the entire panorama and see the “big picture”.  Hey, that’s the way God sees things.  God is able to see everyone in the entire world at the same time!  And what is more, God can see what everyone is doing, from the past and into the future at the same time!  God is controlling events and people - past, present, and future so that everything comes together for the best possible scenario.  Paul worded it best in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”  If we obey God and get into step with His plan and purpose for the ages, we will achieve our best destiny.  After all, God sees the “big picture” - God sees everyone’s past, present, and future.  We can only see the snapshot of what we are doing right now.  Hey, let’s go with God’s view.  After all, He knows what is best.
