Cameroon Flashback

Thursday was a rainy day, so I worked on my quilting squares.  Reread Thursday’s post and Friday’s post and you’ll understand.  The electricity at my house went out and came back on 20 minutes later, so I had to reset 6 electric clocks.  Then it went out again, so I just left the clocks alone.  And it was a good thing, because the power went out two more times Thursday morning!  But I got out my headlamp and went right back to my cutting work on the dining room table without missing a beat.  The headlamp reminded me of our 5 trips to Cameroon, Africa.  The electricity in Bambilli went out often, and sometimes for days at a time!  I’m glad for dependable electrical service here in America … and for headlamps when the service is occasionally interrupted.  I was reminded of how Jesus is so dependable.  I can count on the Savior when everyone and everything else lets me down.  Proverbs 18:24, “… there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”  What an amazingly prophetic verse in the Old Testament about the Lord Jesus Christ written almost 1,000 years before Jesus was born!  And I’m glad that Jesus sticks close to me!  Unlike the electric cooperative in Catoosa County, Jesus is always dependable.
