Forced into a Nap

I was going to paint at Mary’s condo today, but I woke up to the sound of rain on the roof, so I decided to work inside here at home.  But, about 9 am, I heard a loud boom outside, and the lights went out.  Evidently a transformer breaker was hit up the hill from my house.  So, I finished the post that I was working on and closed Microsoft Word.  And just in time, because my computer battery went dead and the computer went dark.  No lights, no TV, no internet, no computer, no coffee maker, no microwave … nothing to do but take a nap with the rain pattering on the roof.  And as I drifted off to sleep, I thanked the dear Lord for making me rest for a while.  Psalm 127:2, “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”  It was useless for me to fret about the work that I couldn’t do, because I just couldn’t do it!  It was best for me to trust the Lord and … take a nap.  Thank you, Lord.
