I drove past the new Erlanger Park baseball stadium last week. It’s coming along nicely, and it should be, with a price tag of $135 million! The new stadium replaces AT&T field, which seats over 6,000 fans and appears to adequate … but it’s just not new, and County Mayor Wamp wants a new stadium to anchor the South Broad Street renovation. When I first came to Chattanooga in 1967, the old Engel stadium was just fine too. Now Chattanooga is building the third “new and improved” baseball stadium to replace an older one. Hey, nothing built by mankind lasts for very long. They soon must be replaced or at least repaired. Only the dear Lord’s creations can self-reproduce and self-repair. No human intervention is necessary! But computers can’t repair themselves; cars can’t repair themselves; and houses only deteriorate. I’m glad that God is much more efficient! Paul said in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” God’s power is seen in His creation, and God’s power is seen in His regeneration of a sinful man! And I am one of His redeemed souls, and I am grateful! Hey, are you one of God’s renovated creations? Message me and we can talk. You could be brand new, just like the new Erlanger Stadium!
