Life is hard. So, just deal with it. It’s easy to grumble, but whining is unproductive, excuses don’t help, and no one wants to be around a loser. My daughter wanted window seat shelving installed in her bonus room, so I was glad to help. The cabinets and shelving units were from Ikea, so what could go wrong? But it wasn’t long before things went wrong. The floor wasn’t level, the walls weren’t plumb, the corner against the ceiling wasn’t straight, and the big window that the units were surrounding was off center by an inch. So, I just had to deal with it. I had to cut the window trim on the left side, I had to add a filler piece to bring the base cabinet out by two inches, and I’ll have to use a lot of caulking. But in the end, Rebekah loved the project. But it took longer than I planned, and I missed church Wednesday night. On the way home, I had to fight Bonnaroo traffic, and interstate paving in Wildwood, Georgia. Frustrated drivers kept switching lanes to gain one car length, usually ahead of me. Once again, I reminded myself, “Just deal with it.” I finally made it home a little after 1 am. Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” So, this morning, with a warm biscuit, hot coffee, and an inspiring Bible verse from the good Lord, I am ready for the day!
